God gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers, and that's one thing my family has come face to face with. The one thing you never want to hear anyone say is that they have Cancer, and that's exactly what my family had to hear. Despite the broken hearts and crying uncontrollably, my family has never been closer. We decided that Cancer wasn't going to define us through this battle we all face, but specifically Jeff.
Now let me tell you a little bit about him. He's the most hard-working man that I have ever met. He's 41 years young, and he works as a Diesel Technician at Cummins. He has two kids, Breanna who is 20 that just recently blessed him with his first grand baby, AnnMarie Grace, and Brandon who is 15. . Along with his Fiance, Judy Egan and her 4 kids John who is 12 and myself Paige 18, Melissa 24 and Kurtis 31. I've known Jeff for about 5 years now, and he is one of the kindest and most caring guys that I know. He's the type of person that would give the shirt off his own back if it meant helping out someone else in need. The type of person that would do anything for you, no matter what time or what the cost was. The type of person you wish the world had more of and boy do we wish the world had more people like him. He's not perfect, nor does he claim to be. Everyone has their own cross to bare, but no one deserves to have to battle this awful disease.
Here's a little information on what he has and how it is affecting our family. The Doctor's believe that it's Stage 2 Stomach Cancer. From the moment that the news was out there, action had been taken. From going to Doctor's appointments in Rochester Hills for endless amounts of Chemo and Radiation, to taking a leave of absence from work. We have really come together to do anything and everything we can to help out, but it's become a little hard. As a family, we have all been thinking and coming up with ways that we can help make this difficult time for him, a little less stressful. To do so, we've decided to have a Fundraiser sale, along with some baked goods. If you would like to attend to see what we are selling, or would like to donate please email me for the address at paigemardis@gmail.com. We are also planning on having a banquet dinner, but place and time have yet to be determined.
So if you could find it in your heart to donate or donate anything to be sold, that would be greatly appreciated. We have faith and hope in God that we will get through this and beat this, together. If you do donate, we appreciate it more then words are explained. Thank you all, God Bless.
