Asking Alexandria: They're Not Moving On

A short look into the bands history from the past couple of years

Asking Alexandria has been going strong since 2009 with their own unique sound of hard rock. The band has formed a huge fandom that wraps around the globe, this being known as the "AA Family." But with this success comes challenges and hard times, and this band has faced them. With their front man and best friend leaving, to the band having no hope at all, the musicians have pushed through and have made a comeback that fans have been anticipating.

Flash back to the end of 2014 andstart of 2015 the front man and face of the band, Danny Worsnop, left the band and said his farewell in order to pursue his own creativity and music with his new found modern rock band We Are Harlot. This was hinted for a long time that Danny would leave the band and start his own group. The last album "Asking Alexandria" put out with Danny, From Death to Destiny, was a huge turn around for the band from what fans were used to. "Moving On" was the hit single from the album and led many to believe that was Danny's way of saying he cannot do this anymore, and that he is moving on. Now for those of you that don't get why he would this. The band is more apart of the heavier, metal-core genre than anything (they still rock so go listen!) and they tend to scream from time to time. Danny just lost interest in the break downs of songs and that heavier sound. Danny also put his career on the line for the band when he tore his vocal cords and had to have serious surgery that changed the way he sounds in general. But if anything it really helped his voice, he is a fantastic singer!

So what about the band now? Asking Alexandria went through the fear of not knowing where they would end up until they found their next best front man, the boy from Ukraine, Denis Stoff. Denis and the band mates of Asking Alexandria had an automatic connection and shot a new career for the band entirely. In summer of 2015, they released their first single with the new front man called "I Wont Give In" which is one of my favorite songs to ever land on the face of this planet. The band toured with Warped Tour and showed the fans and audiences everywhere that they overcame the absence of Danny and kept doing what they love. I met Denis and the boys last summer and asked the founder and lead guitarist Ben Bruce where they planned on going. Ben simply stated, "We plan on making a new album, we plan on showing that we have our style back and we are ready to party!!"

The new album hit in March of this year, and it is a work of pure rock and roll. It is hard, heavy and fun to listen to, and they made it their own. "The Black" is a one-of-a-kind album and truly represents what Asking Alexandria is. The writing process was aimed towards Danny at first because the band just had so much hate, but Denis didn't want that. He wanted something that represented what the band used to be, so Bruce and Denis did exactly that. Danny may have moved on, but this band isn't going anywhere, and it seems as if the future is nothing but bright for these groups of head-bangers. Danny and Asking Alexandria may have parted ways and have moved on from each other, but at least in the end of it all they both ran free and did what made them happy, which is all that matters in life.

Remember kids, people go in different directions but in the end things work out! Keep rocking and go check out "The Black!!"

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

Advice To Live By As Told By Bob's Burgers

The Belchers hold the key to a better life.

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.
