Greek life gets a bad reputation a lot of the time. Many people that are not a part of the Greek community believe that we pay for our friends, party every night of the week, and judge all of the people who are not within our world. But that is such an inaccurate description of what it means to be in a sorority. It's having a support system to pick you up when you're down, it's serving the community in every way we can, and it's building bonds with women who share similar values with you. With recruitment right around the corner, I asked several of my sorority sisters to describe what our chapter has given them in one word, and this is what they said.

"My chapter has developed me into not only a better woman, but also into a leader. Before going Greek, I never thought of myself as a leader. But thanks to the development by my sisters within my sorority, I have grown into a confident woman. To me, being Greek means embracing all leadership opportunities because of all that it has taught me!" -Stephanie

"I have been so blessed to make new friends who have come to mean so much to me while building stronger friendships with girls I knew previously through my sorority. They've been my support system these past few months and I can't imagine my life without the friendships going Greek has given me!" -Greta

"My chapter has encouraged me to leave my comfort zone and take a leadership position in the chapter, something I never thought I was capable of. My schedule has grown busy, and life has gotten even more chaotic, but when I want to throw the towel in and give up, my sisters encourage me to keep going. They help me pick up the pieces when it feels like my world is falling down, and they keep me accountable through encouraging words, lending a helping hand, and showing me that I am fully capable of whatever I set my mind to. They hold me accountable to never give up and keep believing in myself." -Grace

"My sisters constantly push me to be the best I can be, but they also help me keep true to myself. They always have my back in every endeavor I pursue, and they support me no matter what. This isn't just 4 years with unforgettable friends, it's a lifetime of love and laughter with people who genuinely care about you." -Emily

"Faith is believing, and that's what my sisters have given me. They believe in me even when I don't believe in myself, and they have taught me to have faith in all situations. Since going Greek, my faith has increased exponentially, and I have my sisters to thank for that." -Molly

"Through being Greek, I am empowered to do more than I could ever imagine, in and out of my sorority. They allow me to be everything I want to be. My sisters push me to be my best in every situation, and they encourage me to pursue my wildest dreams. They support me through every failure and every success, and for that I am forever thankful." -Payton

"My sorority gives me the confidence to be myself in every situation. No matter what, I know my sorority will always believe in me. My sisters allow me to come out of my shell by sharing laughs with me and showing me nothing but love and acceptance." -Hannah

To everyone reading this, I hope you realize what a blessing it is to be Greek. Someone once said, "A lot of people say that being Greek is just paying for your friends, and if that's true, then I never paid nearly enough."

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
