There are so many misconceptions about being a Christian. Most people stick their noses up at us or even try to avoid us completely. This is most likely because a lot of people that claim to be "Christians" do not live their lives that set an example of a Christ-like life. People like this are everywhere. That is why I don't let the label "Christian" define my faith in Jesus. let what Christ did for me on the cross define my faith.
My faith is not based on a God that is destructive, unfair, wicked, or hateful. But my faith is based on a God that is the creator of the universe, a God that is just, and a God that is Holy.
The God that created the universe and every detail in its entirety, took the time to make you perfectly in His image.
So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.G
God is holy. He is the only one that is holy, so this is what separates us from God along with our sin. He is sovereign, reverend, and worthy of all praise.
This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in Him, there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth.1 John 1:5-6
God is the ultimate judge. He has the right to judge right from wrong. He hates sin and the mistreatment of others, and he has the right to judge us in accordance with His standards.
The Lord reigns forever; he has established his throne for judgment. He rules the world in righteousness and judges the peoples with equity.Psalm 9:7-8
My faith is not based on man that is perfect, righteous, or holy. But my faith is based on man that is unable to pay his debt, man that is condemned, and man that is guilty while enslaved to sin.
Man is born into sin. Because Adam and Eve ate the fruit of good and evil, it predestined into sin. He is guilty from the day that he is born.
Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people , because all sinned. Romans 5:12
The only one that is righteous enough to judge us or condemn us of our sin is God himself.
But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed. God “will repay each person according to what they have done."Romans 2:5-6
Man is not able to pay his debt. There is nothing that he can do to save himself from sin or death.
When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?” But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”Matthew 19:25-26
My faith is not based on a God that is full of hate. But my faith is based on a God that is the perfect representation of love.
God loves his people so much that he put his son on this earth which is filled with so much temptation and sin.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
Jesus was born of a virgin birth, so he was not born into sin like man. He was tried and tempted in every way possible, but he never sinned. He lived a perfect life. The Bible tells us that sin equals death. Jesus never sinned, so he did not have to die for us. He loves us so much he took all of our sins to the cross with Him. His death was not an easy death. He was beaten in the worst way possible and hung on a cross where he suffered for 6 hours.
“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” 1 Peter 2:24-25
Jesus' story doesn't stop there. He was dead for 3 days and then rose from the dead. This shows his power over death. It proves that our God is alive. It promises us that those who follow will never die either. We will spend eternity in Heaven with Him and His Father.
And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.1 Corinthians 15:17
Like I mentioned earlier, there is nothing that you can do to save yourself of pay off your debt. But because of Christ dying for you, your debts are paid and you are no longer enslaved to sin by God's grace. He has forgiven you of all of your sins and will for the rest of your life.
But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.Ephesians 2:4-9
There is no way to gain eternity and forgiveness but through Jesus Christ. You must believe that he is your Lord and Savior.
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.John 14:6
Once you do this, turn away from sin and begin to give everything that you have to become more like Christ.
Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,Acts 3:19
You must also remember that your salvation comes from your faith in Christ. It is not anything that you did.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.Ephesians 2:8-9
Do not be a hypocritical "Christian". My prayer for you is that you surrender your life to Christ and do everything to follow him. Never settle in your faith. Constantly encourage yourself to be more Christ-like in your daily life. Glorify Him in everything you do, go and preach his name.
Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me ." Mark 8:34
