3. Before I Die Wall

Located in the heart of downtown next to the famous double decker bus coffee shop, this wall is made so any person downtown can contribute. Chalk is provided in a cup and the wall extends long enough so many people can write or draw something creative.

4. Downtown shopping

Downtown Asheville is full of bookstores, record stores, boutiques, art stores, you name it. If you're not in the mood to buy anything, it's still a lot of fun to look around and explore the uniqueness of every store.

5. Grove Arcade

No, it's not a gaming arcade. This building itself is an architectural beauty. It's filled with boutiques and craft stores by local artisans.

6. Biltmore

George Washington Vanderbilt II's mansion is a popular tourist destination, but not everyone looks at it through an artist's perspective. It's nothing short of an architectural masterpiece. Inside the mansion there are countless paintings by famous artists like Renoir.

7. Biltmore Village

Right by the Biltmore and just outside of Asheville, this town is designed like a mountain village. Every building has a similar aesthetic - even the McDonald's.

8. Asheville Art Museum

The Asheville Art Museum shows a different side of art from the Biltmore, as it is mainly focused on modern art and North Carolina heritage, making it different from any other museum in the country.

9. LEAF Festival

Lake Eden Arts Festival celebrates artisans all across the nation every fall and spring. People come together to share their talents and love for art, music, food, and nature. This poster is from last year's festival. It takes place at Camp Rockmont in Black Mountain, which is about 15 miles from Asheville.

10. Pinball Museum

This is anything but a traditional museum. The Asheville Pinball Museum has 35 vintage pinball machines that guests can play for as long as they want.

Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
