Artist Spotlight: Q&A With Cardfall
Cardfall

This week's Spotlight Focus is on a Q& A with an upcoming band called Cardfall. Cardfall is a band made up of two brothers, James and Andrew Talbot, from Charlotte, North Carolina. So without further ado, lets get to the questions!

Q: Who's in the band?

Cardfall: Andrew Talbot and James Talbot, two brothers from Charlotte, North Carolina.

Q: How did the band come about?

Cardfall: The band came about as a result of another band that didn't take off. James and I were asked to be apart of this project called the Ugly Odds. We spent some time together trying to put the band together with an artist named Holly. Holly was such an amazing singer and song writer. When we were asked to be a part of it, we were thrilled! Unfortunately, like some things in life, certain things aren't meant to be. So after we departed from that project, James came to me with the idea of being in a band. Since theUgly Odds project didn't take off, it only made sense for us to start writing music for our own band.

Q: Have you guys ever done any kind of touring together as a band or separately?

Cardfall: We both have done touring in different aspects. We both have been lucky enough to tour as musicians for some amazing artists. The journey has taken us all around the world and have played in front of thousands of people. We just recently left some of those amazing artists to pursue our own band full time.

Q: What kind of genre is your music?

Cardfall: We would categorize it as soft rock.

Q: Whats your favorite song off of the album? Mine is definitely Love In London!

Andrew: Love In London.

James: In Circles.

Q: Were there any funny moments or stories from being in the studio? If so, can you tell us one?

Cardfall: Well, so much happened that week it's hard to pin point just one story, but Nashville had a crazy ice storm the two weeks we were in the studio tracking the record. One afternoon, we were on our way to Walmart making a grocery run, and we hit a bad patch of ice and lost control of the car, spun "in circles," (no pun intended) and went off the freeway. That was pretty crazy.

Q: Have you had any crazy fan moments?

Cardfall: Nothing too crazy yet. Nothing we wouldn't do for the artists and bands we love.

Q: Whats your favorite memory as a band?

Cardfall: Hearing our song on the radio for the first time was pretty awesome.

Q: Whats a random fact about yourself?

Andrew: I love to read.

James: I love writing, and vintage things like polaroids and old vinyls.

I wish you boys all the best in wherever life takes you. You're a humble, sweet, grateful, and amazingly talented group of guys. Can't wait to see what y'all have in store for us next!

Now that Y'all know a bit more about Cardfall, How about you go give them a follow on Twitter (Band, Andrew, James), Instagram (Band, Andrew, James), Periscope, Soundcloud, and YouTube! (They've got a killer cover of Stitches by Shawn Mendes that I absolutely love!) Also check out their new Self-Titled Album Cardfall anywhere where music is sold!

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.
