The artwork of Alister Dippner, sometimes known as the Machinist, was first brought to my attention in 2012. Ghost Town, one of the bands I had recently started listening to at the time, had released a video on YouTube of an artist doing a speed painting inspired by one of their songs, Acid. After I watched the first one, I went on to watch every other speed painting he had uploaded to his YouTube channel. Immediately I fell in love with Dippner's artistic style. I went on to check out his website, and I encourage everybody to do the same.
Today, Dippner continues to work closely with Ghost Town, doing speed paintings and album covers for the band. Recently his artwork was brought to life in the animated lyric video for a single off of Ghost Town's newest album.
Despite his close affiliation with the band, Alister Dippner's work stretches much further than just doing designing for Ghost Town. His website, The Machinist Factory, has multitudes of his original paintings and designs up for sale, as well as some prints of past designs. There is a little bit of something for everybody on the Machinist's website, including fan-art pieces inspired by "Game of Thrones," "Star Wars," "Pokemon," or various Disney films.
Dippner takes on a more comic/cartoon-esque characteristics with most of his pieces, using bold lines to give his characters definition. He also has extraordinary use of color in all of his pieces. However, he also branches out from his cartoon style to do other works. His website also contains beautiful, dark landscape paintings as well as some experimental style pieces.
You can find all of Alister's artwork available on his website The Machinst Factory. Check it out!
