I Tried to Write an Article With My Best Friend

And here's the seven steps of how we got distracted.

Writing articles can be very easy or very hard. But one thing is for sure: Your best friend makes it awfully distracting. Here is what the article-writing process looks like when your best friend is sitting nearby.

1. You start writing with the utmost determination.

You ARE going to sit down and get this article written if it's the last thing you do!

2. Random thoughts

You've got to filter out the good/bad/weird before you can clear your mind and focus on your topic...right?

3. Karaoke

Someone gets an ear worm that results in singing and reenacting the entirety of Hamilton.

4. Food run

All that karaoke works up an appetite. And you need another excuse to procrastinate.

5. Makeovers

Your friend has cute clothes and you have makeup skills. Put them together for a new look called "I Should Probably Be Writing But Instead I'm Doing This".

6. Nonsense

Things stop making sense and everything is hilarious.

(For the record, she did not actually snort glitter...this time.)

7. Falling asleep

All the "article writing" can really tire someone out! Take a quick seven hour nap and finish your article in the morning.

Shout out to Snapchat for all the fun pictures and filters.

Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
