Patience is something that everybody has, but to varying degrees. If you are like me, there are little things that always agitate you about everyday things. These are things that wouldn't necessarily cross the minds of those who are fairly patient, but are very prominent to the restless. Here are some of my top annoyances.
1. Traffic.
Traffic is an absolute horror to anyone who isn't patient. Driving alone is enough to make you want to pull your hair out. Those slow drivers who want to go 25 miles per hour in a 40 miles per hour zone make for a fantastic drive home. Not to mention that random traffic you run into at the weirdest times of day. Why does traffic even happen? Just drive your car, and we'll all be good here, honestly.
2. Lines.
Standing in line for anything is not fun. I don't care if I'm the second person in line, I'm going to complain that I have to wait another minute to order my Chipotle. Who wants to just stand there staring at the back of someone's head for 10 minutes? Certainly not me.
3. Talking.
There are those few people in your life that just like to talk on and on without any real direction. I just want to hear your point and move forward. I don't need a 15 minute story that kind of relates to what we are talking about, but not really. And that's not to mention those people who say "um" way too much for their own good. Sometimes, in class, someone will be called on, and because they are somewhat caught off guard, they add 500 "ums" into their statement to draw it out. Just spit out any answer, and let's continue on with our day.
4. Commercials.
Commercials aren't especially fun or interesting for anyone, except maybe on Superbowl Sunday. But for the impatient people out there, waiting for your show to come back on is not going to happen. I usually end up changing the channel to avoid sitting through the period of boring nothingness. Yes, I know that commercials pay for the shows and the channel and all that, but I would much rather have a continuous rotation of actual TV. Maybe that's why Netflix is so vital to my life.
5. Walking.
I am a fast walker, I'll admit it. Some of it is because of my very long legs, but most of it is because I just hate dilly-dallying. When I'm stuck behind a slow walker, my every thought is concentrated on how to get around them. When I finally do, it's almost like a small victory... until I catch up to another slow person. Walking slowly is good for parks and museums, I guess, but when you are walking down the sidewalks of New York, there is no time for that.
