Let me say that again. Something that isn't broken, can't be healed.
Healing comes from brokenness.
We see brokenness as a punishment. No one likes being broken. No one enjoys those seasons. And often it's easy to question why God is allowing the hurt to happen.
But think about our bones.
It isn't uncommon for a doctor to have to "rebreak" a bone. Maybe it's a finger. Maybe it's a nose. Is the doctor breaking the bone to cause pain? To intentionally inflict suffering on the patient?
No.
Does that mean it doesn't hurt? Does that mean the patient feels no pain?
No.
The doctor knows that the only way for the bone to heal correctly is for it to be broken again. He knows what's best for the patient, even if it doesn't feel best.
It's the same with God.
Sometimes He allows us to be broken so that He can heal us. So that he can make us better than we were before.
Brokenness isn't a punishment. Brokenness is an opportunity for God to work in our lives. It's an opportunity for Him to make us more like the person He's called us to be.
Rest in this truth: you do not have to stay broken.
God is there. He is present.
And more than anything, He is waiting for us to allow Him into our brokenness. He won't force Himself, just like a doctor won't force you to make an appointment.
Embrace the healing that comes from brokenness.
"...he has torn us to pieces; now he will heal us. he has injured us; now he will bandage our wounds." -hosea 6:1
