Art is an expression, an acceptance, a depiction of thoughts through creativity. It’s an explanation of events, a showcase of beauty, and it’s a gift to the eyes of humanity.
I recently made a trip to Balboa Park in San Diego, California, for a photo shoot and decided to check out the Museum of Art. It was a great opportunity to learn more about the world of artists and their pieces of art. I found it all so inspiring and it was so amazing to see how art has changed through so many decades, from portraiture to analogical depictions to finely detailed landscapes.
It was so intense going from room to room and observing the emotion-provoking paintings that drew eyes towards the fine details from the dainty paint brushes. I adored the details of the complicated texture within each painting that I was only able to see up close but made up such a simplistic painting seen from afar.
They put certain paintings that provoke a sort of emotion into a room and painted the walls a color that provokes the same sort of emotion to make it feel so personal. It is a way to make a connection with the beauty and the purpose of each piece.
I have always admired how so many artists have expressed themselves through different kinds of art, such as simplistic paintings, lively statues, portraiture, analogical paintings, abstraction, and so much more. There will always be a story behind each painting and we may not always see it, but we still hold it close to us.
That is the beauty- holding the definition of something we aren’t quite aware of, but we know it is there. We do this and we apply our own meaning to it, whether it be something we miss, think of often, or what we love now. It could be a memory that comes to us when we see it so we apply it to the art, or it is something that we see in it that reminds us of ourselves.
What I find neat about walking down the halls of art museums is that each person has a kind of painting or piece of abstraction that catches their eye that not everyone is attracted to. Whether you're an art fanatic or you're just going to the museum because you had to tag along, I guarantee you there is a kind of art that will always catch your eye in each room you enter.
I am always attracted to the finely detailed art of a beautiful landscape or pieces of art that show a visible story rather than portraits of historical figures or paintings of different shapes.
It is just because I love analyzing the picture as a whole and the little brush strokes that make up the painting close up. I am also attracted to landscapes because it reminds me of the different places that I've seen and I've always had a passion for travel.
I think it is important to learn something from the museums you visit because the paintings aren't just pieces of history, but pieces of someone's mind. It is always so interesting to learn and observe different ways of thinking that may or may not contradict your own, but it allows a larger perspective on things presented in the pieces of art.
Always take your time in art museums and read the paragraphs set to the side of the paintings that tell you the history. Always take your time to observe every little detail.
