America’s largest visual arts fair came to Miami Beach last weekend, bringing in over 200 of the world’s leading modern and contemporary art galleries, displaying the work of over 4000 artists.
The 16th Edition of the Art Basel show in Miami Beach has brought top notch live entertainment, music, and arts, to thousands of art fans, who traveled from all around the world to witness this annual event.
Last year over 77,000 people attended the Art Basel to see beautiful art, watch breath-taking performances, and attend some of the hottest parties in the country.
This year, artists like Baz Luhrman, Tom Wesselmann, Yves Klein, and Tara Mobayen were under the spotlight for their fresh and innovative art.
Tara Mobayen, otherwise known by her stage name, Miss Tara, is a dance music producer and DJ, as well as visual artist. At this week’s Art Basel in Miami, Miss Tara’s art is on display at a host of private events.
New York’s Paula Cooper Gallery recently sold a blockbuster piece by conceptual artist, Sol Lewitt, to a private museum for over $1-million. Sol was at the Miami design this weekend, displaying some of his latest work.
Both Rodrigo Torres and Kevin Beasley also displayed some of their latest sculpture work at the Miami Beach Art Basel.
Alcija Kwade's "Revolution" was the centerpiece at one of the new open spaces at Art Basel Miami, in the Miami Beach Convention Center.
The Art Basel brought about many parties, mini festivals, and club nights featuring DJ’s playing everything from house music and techno to hip-hop and RnB.
Many celebrities visit the annual art fair, each year. More notably, Diplo the musician and producer as well as American actress, Selma Blair were spotted at this year’s Art Basel.
For those who were in Miami, last weekend. there was no shortage of wild parties, exclusive galas, and mind-blowing galleries lining the streets.
The Art Basel in Miami finished on December 10th,, but fear not art fans, the Art Fair will return for its 17th edition next year!
