They Found a Wilder Mind
The Rolling Stone

All fans of Mumford and Sons can let out a big sigh of relief, followed by a heart-wrenching scream and then they can just let the tears flow, because they are back. They came back full force and have most definitely not disappointed, because they are even better than they were before.

The British quartet took the world by storm with their first two studio albums, Sigh No More (2009) and Babel (2012) that were dominated by old folk instrument sounds and comfortably found themselves a place in the folk-rock genre. They toured the world and draped themselves with highly recognizedmusical awards, all while chilling their fans with their heartfelt and relatable lyrics. After a horribly long, three year break, fans were worried what they would come back with, but after over a thousand days of waiting and hoping, we need not worry anymore.

Because like all the greats, they have transformed. In their third album, Wilder Mind they left their banjos and accordions behind to gather some dust for a while and threw an electric guitar into the mix.

They can officially call themselves a rock band.

Billboard writer, Garrett Kemps said, “Not only does Wilder Mind reintroduce the band members as rock gods worthy of the title, it does so without changing what fans cherished most about them in the first place: their songwriting, their sentiment, their gusto."

The album is every hopeless romantic's dream with half the songs' lyrics painting the picture perfect love story and the other half creating the typical haunted and tortured end of a relationship.

"Half of the band has gone one way towards this sort of happy marriage, and the other half has gone the opposite direction to a lonely single existence," Ted Dwane, Mumford band member told The Rolling Stone. "So there was sort of two people writing from one spectrum and two people writing from the opposite spectrum. Certainly the sentiments expressed on the album are all drawn from personal experience, unfortunately."

The album opens with “Tompkins Square Park" that has a thrilling electric guitar sounds that make you feel as though you are walking around the restless Big Apple with buildings towering above your head. “Snake Eyes" tells the story of the one you knew you should have avoided. “The Wolf" and “Believe" hold true to their bumble then burst in the end style leaving you with shaking hands and only wanting more.

When it is all over, Marcus Mumford's voice echoes and begins to resonate in your mind while the drum beat stays constant with the tap of your foot and the guitar chords send chills down your spine. The album is through in through the blood, sweat and tears of the Mumford quartet and has proved to us the raw talent this group possesses. It screams “We are here for the long haul," and that we will only be seeing more remarkable things here on out, because they have only just begun to take the music industry by storm.

Welcome back boys.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
