Arizona Summers, As Told By 'SpongeBob SquarePants'

It's too hot to be alive, summers here are awful.

Well, the secret is out -- summers in Arizona are unbelievably hot. There is no way to escape the heat in the summer months here. While most of us do not have the luxury to leave the state from mid-May to August, we just got to make the most of it -- often laughing our way through the heat.

For the many fortunate souls that do not have to experience this, this is what the summer in Arizona is like -- as told by SpongeBob Squarepants:

1. School is out, which means the weather is about to heat up.

You try to act like the heat isn't going to be that bad this year, but in reality, you are preparing for the worst.

2. Walking to your car becomes unbearable.

Who knew you could breathe so heavily? The walk from your car to your destination ends up taking more out of you than you thought possible. Also, walking to enjoy the evening for fun? That is a thing of the past my friend.

3. On a 120º day, and the wind hits you.

You are a goner, it's over with.

4. Everything around you is melting.

We make the news every year for what weird objects are melting in the Grand Canyon state -- there are recycling bins melting, the paint on street signs are melting away, and there are fences that are making their way to the ground.

5. Ice cream becomes a form of survival.

Nothing is better than eating some ice cream on a blistering hot day. The ice cream is already partially melted by the time the cashier hands it to you, but that's okay. It's just typical Arizona.

6. Waking up to the bright Arizona sun.

I don't know about you, but I personally love waking up to 90º+ weather when it is only nine in the morning -- it is such a fun way to start the day.

7. You tan can go from golden brown to lobster real quick.

Aloe and sunblock are your best friends during the summer here; however, if you do decide to tan make sure you do it responsibly. You will be burnt to a crisp if you aren't careful.

8. Spending anytime outdoors is a recipe for heat exhaustion.

Being outside during summertime is just not a good idea -- outdoor malls are vacant, places like TopGolf lose business due to their half outdoor layout, and water parks are currently thriving in this heat. It's just not worth the risk to leave a well air-conditioned area.

9. Getting out of the heat is the absolute best.

California and Mexico are two popular getaways for us baking in Arizona. Even exploring cities within the state that are a little cooler is helpful in the quest to survive the heat.

10. The best part of summer? Knowing that it will be fall soon enough.

Summer is great and all, but once the weather cools off, Arizona become a bearable state to live in again.

Stay cool my friends, drink lots of water, and most importantly try to escape the Arizona heat as much as possible.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
