The Best 12 Moments in Ariana Grande's "thank u, next" Video

In This Article:

Ariana Grande dropped her music video for the popular song "thank u, next" and boy did she give us everything we could ever want and more. It was an overnight sensation... smashing youtube's all-time record for most views in 24 hours. It paid homage to popular female-driven movies of the early 2000s which include, Mean Girls, Bring It On, 13 Going on 30, and Legally Blonde. While the whole music video is absolutely amazing... these are the 12 things that Ariana truly iconically blessed us within this music video.

Aaron Freaking Samuels

While she started the music video off with a whole skit that mimicked the Regina George speakings in Mean Girls... Ariana made sure to get us good ol' Aaron Samuels, original actor and all, plus him using a phrase used from the movie itself.

The Mean Girls Burn Book

Giphy

Ariana put a nice touch in with using the Burn Book but changing the name to the title of the song. Within the book we see her write about Sean, Ricky & Pete. On Sean's page, it says "Sweet, Kind (Could still get it)". On Ricky's page, there are words like "Great Dancer, Good Times." & on Petes, she has "HUUUUUUGE" written on the bottom of the page (unless you've been under a rock everyone knows what that refers too (; ) and "sorry I dipped" which hints that she ended their engagement,

A Jade and Kat reunion

She brought in her co-star Elizabeth Gillies from Victorious who played Jade, in to be in this music video with her. The tweet with the glow up... enough said.

Kris Jenner

Ariana straight up gave all of us exactly what we would want with this. Kris Jenner as the Mean Girls mom recording their performance.

The "To Ari From Ari" mixtape

Influenced by the mixtape given to Torrance from Cliff in the movie Bring It On, Ariana put this in the video at a perfect timing with her lyrics in the songs about I know they say I move on too fast but this one gon' last. Cause her name is Ari, and I'm so good with that."

Matt Bennett aka Robbie & the famous 'Bring It On' brushing teeth scene

Added on from the Victorious cast where Ariana's career really took off.. is Matt Bennett. All Victorious fans went crazy seeing this guy being brought in! & adding it in for him to play Cliff from Bring It On... absolutely perfect!

Bring It On

Bringing in the cheer scene from the game in the movie Bring It On was a great way to really wrap up the Bring It On scenes.

13 Going On 30

Giphy

Ari playing Jenna from 13 Going On 30 just gave all the good feels from a GREAT movie. She even pulled off the look extremely well!! even adding in the dollhouse!

Legally Blonde

Every outfit this girl wears in her Legally Blonde reference scenes are EXTREMELY on POINT! She may not be a blonde like Reese Witherspoon was in the movie but she still rocked it all.

THE BEND AND SNAP

But of course how was she going to reference Legally Blonde without the famous Bend and snap?!

Jennifer Coolidge

An absolute Legally Blonde Legend... lets be real.

The perfect mood

& lastly, my favorite part of the music video. finishing off the strong song and music video with a simple flipping off and tongue out to the camera. The best way to put the perfect mood for all girls jamming out to thank u, next.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
