Here we are.
Once again in the breathtaking, wake of another album from the queen of pop herself, Ms. Ariana Grande Butera. It seems like she can simply not stay out of the studio long enough for us to catch our break.
First, Grande game us 'Sweetener' in the blissful fall of 2019.
'Sweetener' came after a year of darkness and depression. Following the bombing at her Manchester show in 2018, Grande was not sure if she could make it back to the studio, or herself. She lost a piece of herself.
For her fans, she brought herself back to life. Not only did she revive herself, but also her music. In 'Sweetener', she brought us 'no tears left to cry' which solidified her writing ability up with there with the greats. Its pop rhythm topped the charts and captivated millions. Along with that, she presented us with the power of 'God is a woman' and 'successful', two songs that remind women of their authorization in society.
Finally, she brought us 'pete davidson', both the song and the person. With her brief engagement with SNL comedian, Pete Davidson came to the lovely tune about the love she held for him. Sadly, their engagement ended after the tragic death of her former flame and best friend, Malcolm Miller, who passed from an accidental overdose in 2018.
She then left us for a few months
Our world was crooked without her. The world was ending a year that desperately needed her music. During her hiatus, she did seal a win for Album of the Year and won gracefully in a customer, Zac Posen gown.
Yet, again, she brings herself up from the ashes into music that shifted the world we lived in.
Grande gave us "thank u, next' dedicated to her survival through it all. It opens with 'imagine' a song about her love for Miller and the life in her past. Then, the strength of 'fake smile' and 'bloodline' stream through, reminding us of the audacity of the world that messes with us.
Also, 'break up with your boyfriend', I will leave that at that.
During quarantine, she released a few songs to keep us on her feet. Those included, 'Stuck With U', 'Boyfriend', and 'Rain On Me' with Lady Gaga.
What will this new record hold?
Will it be about our lives at home? Will it be about her life with Dalton Gomez?
The world will never know. By the end of the month of October, the world will be graced with more music that can change the face of the earth. She is going to top the charts and make history, all in one swoop.
Get ready 2020, you are about to be saved.
