In a recent Instagram post, Ariana Grande boldly declared herself as "the hardest working 23-year-old human being on Earth." Many on the internet did not feel too enthused to agree.

Being a musician can be very difficult, and there is no doubt that this "Dangerous Woman" puts a lot of effort into working hours upon hours to do what she does, but this statement really offended a lot of people.

A 23-year-old mother wrote an opinion piece in reply to Grande's comment. "I started off at $10.50 an hour working nights, sitting at a table staring at thousands of little pieces of metal, packing them into boxes and sending them on their way. I was ale to work my way up enough that I now work in a nice, air-conditioned lab on day shift making $21.50 and hour." She further describes her life of growing up in a broken home and becoming the adult she is today.

A Twitter user also posted "... like there aren't 23-year-olds out [here] working 4 jobs to stay in their tiny apartments." Another user sarcastically agreed with the pop star's comment, "Yea Arianna Grande is the hardest working 23-year-old on Earth not the ones struggling making 60 cents a day trying to provide for their families."

The caption seen around the world was posted with a picture of the singer on Saturday, January 14th, and has not been deleted; who knows if it ever will be? Despite the backlash from those who took offense, there are also people who are on Grande's side and have no hesitation when it comes to defending her.

One Twitter user tweeted that Grande is "like the hardest working female recording artist! the girl works non stop!" while another thanked the pop star in a tweet for "always working the hardest for us [the fans]," before the Instagram post even existed.

The chaos from the caption has simmered down on social media, especially now that Inauguration Day has passed and there will be more important issues to focus on than a singer's caption on a social media post.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
