Life is crazy. You never what's going to happen next. One day you're having the time of your life; the next day you're cursing the whole world for screwing you over. As millennials would say to cope with every unwanted situation, "It really be like that."
Girl, don't let every negative experience get you down. Listen to Ariana Grande: "Been through some bad shit, I should be a sad bitch / Who would have thought it'd turn me to a savage?"
The pop star dropped a new girl anthem called "7 Rings." "Thank U, Next" inspired the female population to be nice to their ex-boyfriends (and generated endless amounts of memes), while "Imagine" made us think about that one guy we will never ever have. This new song is giving us the ultimate bad girl vibes.
When I listen to the song, I feel as if I can take over the world in a snap. Ari got me realizing that not one traumatic or tragic event should destroy me. It should push me to build a stronger skin that no one can ever get under. Like, I'm capable of anything I put my mind to.
And, you gotta admit that the title kind of takes you back to good ol' days when Miley Cyrus dropped "7 Things." We were all sad over our nonexistent boyfriends. Our little 10-year-old selves sang our hearts out to a song we had no business of relating to that hard. "7 Rings" is the long-awaited sequel we never thought we would need. Thanks to our homegirl Ariana for showing us our worth. We're independent women who don't need no man!
"7 Rings" is the ultimate mood for 2019 for the girls! We're not entertaining negativity this year. We're fighting back every time and refusing to settle for less than what we deserve. The sweetest revenge is to prove everyone that ever doubted you wrong. Girls have the right to be as extra as they want to be. We're not taking anyone's crap anymore. We're doing what we want to do. If someone disagrees, then oh well!
We've watched Ariana Grande go through hell and back this past year. She experienced a few too many lows in front of the public eye. No matter how good a heart is, people still had something to say against her. None of us will ever understand what she went through, but we can admire how she held her head up high the entire time. She showed us what it's like to be a "badass babe." She embodied it through her music and in real life.
As she says in her newest bop, "I see it, I like it / I want it, I got it." Girls are treating themselves to nice things. Girls are getting what they do deserve. Girls are becoming savages and not sad bitches. Girls are loving themselves as they should. And, we're here for it.
