“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” – Matthew 24:14

In the last two weeks, I have felt the light of God guide me in a direction that I never would have thought. I have begun to dive into the book of Revelations. For those who do not know, it is the final book of the Bible that prophesizes the second coming of Christ.

Until November of this year, I brushed it off and thought this was never something that would happen in my lifetime. I was wrong. I have started noticing things in this world that are not the way that they should be. They are not the way God created them to be. What is even worse is that we are ignoring it. School shootings and terrorist attacks are no longer phasing us when they come on to the news. We use sex, drugs, and alcohol in attempt to fill the void that only Jesus can fill.

I will no longer hold my tongue because somebody might judge me. God is my only judge. I know with my whole heart that God had drawn me to Revelations to prepare my heart for His son’s return. I have seen friends, whom I never thought would, turn to God in this time.

God has lead me to study Revelations and tell others about Him and how beautiful eternal life with Him will be. The only way to Heaven is to know the Father and to live a life for Him. Be aware that there is a difference between knowing who God is and knowing Him on a personal level. You must have a relationship with the Lord.

How do you begin this relationship? Or how do you repair it? Talk to him. Sit down every day and dive into the word. Pick a time where you will be uninterrupted and you can just read and talk to your Father because one day the trumpets will sound and you will stand face-to-face with Jesus. I will not sugar coat it because we all need to reflect on how we are living our lives and ask, "Is it for Him?" When Christ returns, what will he say to you? Will you be ready?

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
