We have those people in our lives that we hang around. Have you ever wondered the difference between a true friend and a friend that you go out with when you drink? You might think that everyone is your friend but that is not true. There’s a distinct difference in which friends are good for your soul and which ones destroy your liver. Always remember that a true friend will always be there for you sober or not.
Who takes care of you when you have had a little too much to drink?
A true friend will take care of you, but if you are constantly having to take care of someone then they are your drinking buddy. Not only are they willing to take care of you, but they will hold your hair in the process.
Do they tell you to go out all the time?
A drinking buddy would always ask you to go out with them. A real friend would not only go out with you but actually do sober activities. There are some memories worth remembering.
Are they willing to be the DD?
A drinking buddy will never be caught dead being the designated driver. They will go through lengths to find a DD because they cannot stand to be sober around people drinking. On the other hand, a real friend is willing to drive you so you can let loose.
Can you live without them?
A true friend is one that supports you and wants you to be the better version of yourself. A drinking buddy wants you to be your crazy drunk self and will make sure you are drunk the whole night. You can dispose of them because they do not really impact your actual life. As for a friend, you will forever be thankful of the day you guys met.
Do they know your limit?
A drinking buddy will make you take endless shots until you pass out. A real friend will make sure you do not go past your limit, so you do not make a fool of yourself. They know your limit and know that hangovers are the worst.
