Chino Hills native and former UCLA bruin, Lonzo Ball, had his official visit with the Los Angeles Lakers this past week.
Ball shot well during his workout and was engaging in conversation with the Lakers front office during his visit.
Lonzo participated in a one-on-none workout while in LA. He wasn't able to showcase much of his passing skills but did participate in a bunch of shooting drills.
However, the Lakers haven't fully committed to Ball as their draft pick this year.
As of late, the Lakers are considering Lonzo Ball, Josh Jackson, Markelle Fultz and De'Aaron Fox.
The Boston Celtics currently hold the first pick in this year's draft while the Lakers have the second. They also haven't revealed who their sure fire pick is. However, it's highly possible that Markelle Fultz could join Isaiah Thomas and the Celtics next season. Fultz who also had official visit with the Celtics this past week, has made it known he would love to play for the organization.
Fultz may be the purest scorer in the draft. However the other three possible draftees have great attributes as well.
Josh Jackson may be the best two-way player the Lakers could select. He has a clear cut killer instinct which would benefit the Lakers organization. Even though the Lakers already have a young forward in Brandon Ingram, Jackson would give some toughness to the roster.
De'Aaron Fox has speed like no other player in the draft. His quickness draws comparisons to John Wall. Fox also displayed great defense during this year's NCAA tournament. Although he struggles with his jump shot, the Lakers could look to improve that part of his game with time and repetition.
Lonzo Ball has said it be would be great to stay in California and play for the Lakers. His great leadership skill would help a struggling Lakers team who could use a more up-tempo style of offense. Although Lonzo could use some improvement on the defensive end, his ability as a play maker is something the Lakers' value.
With the draft set for June 22, the Lakers will have to decide which player they will choose to pair up with their young core.
