Just last week, for King and Country's movie came out called Priceless. This is the third in stallment of their project called Priceless. They have a song and a book out as well. The song is called Priceless by for King and Country and I encourage that you listen to it. I haven't read the book or seen the movie. but what I got from the trailer is that it's about this man who finds these two girls in the back of a tractor trailer. They were being sold to other human traffickers. But this man saves them and I assume they go through out this whole adventure to fight for their freedom. This whole thing has really got me thinking a lot of different things. The movie has a lot of ties to human and sex trafficking, but I think the general idea is to show us as women that we are priceless.
I know that my knowledge with human and sex trafficking is very small compared to what it actually going on the world. I can tell you that 27 million men, women and children are stuck in slavery. I can also tell you that it is happening in America. I think a conclusion we all come to is that it's not okay. The idea of this word priceless is that we are not some that can be given a number or price. In this world of trafficking, people are placing prices on these people so that other slave traders can buy these people. After being in that ring for so long, I can't imagine what that feels like to not realize how incredibly priceless we all are.
Speaking of, we all are priceless. We use all these numbers to measure our worth. But, you are worth more than the numbers people rate you. You are worth more that your GPA or the grade you got on your midterm. You are worth more than you bra size or your dress size. You are worth more. What all of us as humans forget is that we aren't about to be tagged like a t shirt at your favorite store. When I say something like an item or a moment was priceless, it means that no matter how old it is, i will still love it and cherish it. I could never part with it. And that's the same way we should feel about others as well as ourselves. We are prized works of art that are unable to be bought for a price. We are worth more.
So, don't let the numbers of every day life determine your worth. You are already Priceless. If you've been labeled by a number in anyway, I hope you can find a way to break free from that number. That's not a way to live life. You shouldn't be captured by anyone's number to you, whether that's a grade, a dress size or a real price. You are your own and you don't belong to anyone. You Are Priceless.
