Are ENTJ's Friends Or Enemies?

Are ENTJ's Friends Or Enemies?

I've taken a lot of MBTI tests in my lifetime. I belive four since I was 15, and everytime I've taken it I got the same results, ENTJ. According to 16 Personalities.com a free MBTI test website, this personality type is labeled "The Commander". It couldn't be more right. When you take a real MBTI test, it shows not only what you are, but where in the spectrum of the different letters you are in. Let me tell you I am at the very end of the spectrum for Extravision INtuition Thinking and Judgement.

I knew from a young age I was a natural born leader. I idolized powerful, fearless military leaders and strategists. World leaders and their styles, men and women of influence. Ultimately I loved the idea of having power.

A couple famous ENTJ's are Napoleon Bonaparte, Steve Jobs, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Francis Underwood (House of Cards), and who I align with the most Malcolm Merlyn (Arrow). ENTJ's account for 3% of the population.

You probably know quite a few ENTJ's, they're outgoing, assertive, and get results. I might not represent 100% of ENTJ's but I am one, and this is who I am.

A lot of people have called me the best friend they've ever had, or a total asshole based on my personality. This depends on what you do, where you are in relation to my friendship, and a lot of factors. In general I would say a lot of people who have known me for 3+ years call me their best friend. Those that have known me for a short period of time but still are friends call me an asshole. I'm their best friend because, if you ever get the chance to get close to me, I will take care of you, there is nothing I wouldn't do for you, you deserve the highest level of respect. Got arrested? I'll let you use my attorney and bail you out. Financial issues? I'll be there with you at every step to make sure you become financially stable, I'll let you talk to my personal banker. When I'm a real asshole is when I don't know you or you think you're the alpha. Remember I'm an ENTJ, I WANT TO BE THE ALPHA!! If you're not close to me, I'll never be personable to you. I've lead a lot of teams in my life, and those short teams that I've lead call me an asshole. The reason is because I am fixated on the goal and objective. I can put any emotion and personal factors aside to make the most logical decision. ENTJ's get results, you want something done, call a Commander.

I think what I love the most about having this personality is my confidence. I'm able to approach any situation with the mentality I can get it done, no matter the cause, and with the thought of every effect. I get nervous, I think thats every human nature no matter your mindset, but the only difference is how quickly you overcome that mentality.

So yeah, not every ENTJ might be like me, but because I am at the very end of the spectrum with no leaway I feel like I am a true ENTJ. Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses, but I tend to not dwell on my weakness and push onwards and exercise my strengths to my greatest potential.

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
