Now I know you have all heard of Chacos. The shoes that allow you to be adventurous, but also allow you to be comfortable when dressed up. The shoes that allow you to be you.
The small town I am from, Chacos were not a thing in my high school, then I got to UVA and everyone has a pair. I will admit I was one of those people, who thought they were really ugly (yeah I know, I'm the worst). Then, I started noticing that everyone who had a pair loved them. A couple of weeks ago, I decided it was time to get on board the Chaco train and buy myself a pair.
Let me tell you they have yet to disappoint me! I have literally worn them every day since I bought them. Sometimes with athletic shorts and a t-shirt, sometimes with a cute skirt and a nice shirt. To say the least, they are great for having to walk to and from class every day. Usually, it takes a while to get used to shoes and for me to really like them, but that was not the case with Chacos. As soon as I tried them on in the store I was in love with them! I'm still working on perfecting the skill of tightening and loosening them properly because fun fact: all of the straps are connected, so you have to pull certain straps certain ways to loosen/tighten other straps.
The main reason I wanted them was for my WyldLife camp trip with the middle school I lead at.
I really didn't want to have to wear tennis shoes all day every day, but I also knew I didn't want to wear my Birkenstocks, so Chacos gave me that happy medium. Shoes with enough support that I could wear them walking up and down hills all day, shoes that I could wear in the water, and shoes that didn't make my feet feel trapped in my shoes. They proved to be very useful on this camp trip, and I literally wore them every minute of every day (except for when I went to bed of course).
Here is my shameless plug, for everyone to take the plunge and invest in some Chacos! Your feet will thank you, I promise! Plus, who doesn't want a funky tan line from their shoes?
