Apps That Actually Make You Money

Over the past month, I've downloaded several apps that give you money for doing simple things. I've made about $35 over the month using these apps. This may not seem like a huge amount, but it's $35 I didn't have before. Here are the 3 best apps (available on both iOS and Android) that actually pay you for using them. It's not enough to live off of, but we can all use a little extra spending money.

1. Surveys on the Go

This app is very easy to use and gives you money for taking surveys. The surveys are usually short; about three to four minutes. They are usually worth between 10 and 50 cents per survey. Some surveys are longer and are worth more money, but you have to qualify for them. You link your PayPal to the app, and once you've earned $10 you can cash out. Easy and painless.

2. Gigwalk

Gigwalk is an app that requires a little more work, but pays more money. In Gigwalk, you link the app to your location and "jobs" pop up near you. These jobs are simple. You go to a location, follow the direction for your job, take photos, and then cash out through PayPal. For my "job," I had to go to Walmart and check out the Neutrogena skin care display, as well as take a few photos. I earned $5.00 for my job. This is a good app to check when you're out and about and you can earn some cash here and there.

3. Qriket

Qriket is an app that requires no effort, you simply choose a color and spin a wheel. If the wheel lands on your color, you win the amount of money that shows up on your screen. The highest amount I've won so far is 15 cents, but the money adds up over time. In theory, you could win $1000 if your winning spin is worth that much money. In order to spin the wheel, you need "spins" and you can get spins by watching short ad videos. You can cash out of Qriket at $25 through PayPal.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
