Any.do

With Any.do you can organize what you want to do that day, or what you have going on that day. The cool thing about the app is if you do not finish what you said you would do in that day it gets pushed back until you finally accomplish it. You can cross things off in Any.do, and the crossing off and accomplishing feeling is really satisfying. Another neat thing about Any.do is that it allows you to make a variety of different lists, for if you want to make a “homework list” or a separate “weekend list” which can help you stay more organized. This app is very helpful, and for all the new freshman and just any college student wondering about what apps to get his app is definitely a MUST- have!

Venmo

Going out with friends, but forgot to bring your wallet? With Venmo you link the app up to your credit or debit card or your checking account. Users of the Venmo app can either charge or receive payments from friends when out and will receive the payment in the Venmo Balance, where the receiver will be able to use the balance later on. Yet, if the receiver of the Venmo app chooses, they have the ability to later on get cash from what they recently received and have it transferred to their bank account. Venmo is a very nice app when going out with friends, and when you are splitting things, don’t have your wallet, or want to repay a friend.

Shazam

Everyone loves music but sometimes does not know the name of the song. With this app, you are able to ‘Shazam’ the song, then look back if you want any of the previous songs that you have ‘Shazamed.’ Another nice thing about Shazam is, if you like a song and maybe want to buy it, you can look in your Shazam history for it. After looking in the Shazam history you have the ability to click on the song, which will then take you to the iTunes store, where you will see the song, how much it cost and what album it is in. Shazam is loved by many college students; thus, if you love music, you will love Shazam!

Snapchat

This fun app allows you to take pictures or videos of yourself or of others. You can also use the filters that the app offers if you focus the face sensor on your face. You will have a variety of choices that you can choose from for filters, from the dog filter which gives you a dog tongue and a dog ears or from being able to swop your face with your best friends. In some states and countries you have the ability to get geographic signs, allowing you to tell people where you are in your “snaps.”

WaterIn

We all worry that at the end of the day we do not drink the normal amount of water that we should be drinking. Water does many things and is very important, it helps nutrient and oxygen into cells, also regulates body temperature. It helps with our metabolism, also if we drink enough water it can help us lose weight, and also look younger because of our healthier skin. We are also less likely to get sick by drinking plenty of water, the water also helps in our digestion system and with constipation. Water helps relieve the feeling of fatigue, and helps up have a good mood. Thus, with WaterIn, you have the ability to tell how much water you drink a day, to make sure that you have a healthy lifestyle.

GroupMe

Ever try and make a group chat and then all of the sudden you get a dozen or so messages from everyone messaging with the group. With GroupMe you have the ability to make a “group” and then you have the ability to add people to this “group.” Once everyone’s phone number is added to the “group” by someone who starts the “group”

Uber

Sometimes you need a ride, but do not have a car. With Uber in a press of a button you can tell someone where you need to go, and they will come get you. This convenient app is especially handy at night time, when you do not want to walk home in the dark, and need a ride. Therefore, the next time you need a ride, whether it is to the airport or to the grocery store, no matter the time an Uber drive will be with you in shortly as soon as you “request” a ride.

Spotify

Ever want to get a taste for music, without buying it? Spotify is the app to get. You are able to look up songs, make playlists, and follow your friends who are on Spotify and also artists so that when their new music is out you are one of the first to find out. This app is amazing and highly recommended!

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about.
