In today's technology ridden world, it's easy to become overwhelmed and entrenched in a variety of useless apps. As a result, we often find ourselves spending hours scrolling through various social media feeds or trying to beat just one more level on a specific game, all the while wasting precious time and not even realizing just how much time we are spending.

This being said, technology is great and can be used to greatly improve our everyday lives saving us time and money. So, instead of downloading the newest Instagram update or whatever version of Temple Run, Angry Birds, or WordsWithFriends comes out next, use the following apps and computer extensions to help improve your productivity instead of wasting your time.

1. Honey

Honey is an online extension which scours the internet for you, finding all the best deals. This means that when you go to check out of an online order, the downloaded extension provides you with the best coupon codes applicable and available for your purchase. So, stop wasting time browsing endless sites looking for the best deal, and shop away my friends.

2. Grammarly

This extension is a student's best friend. It takes all the hard work out of writing and edits your papers for you, correcting any spelling and grammatical mistakes you may make.

3. Yelp

This app is great whether you're in a new area or simply want to try something new. You can look up tons of restaurants and services within your location, view customer ratings, and reviews, browse through pictures, find menus, view locations, and more!

4. Food Service Apps

If you already know what you want to eat, chances are the restaurant has an app. Most chain restaurants provide customers with apps that commonly offer insider deals and the availability to order ahead and avoid the crowds.

5. Groupon

Groupon is a great way to save as it showcases sales and specials from nearly all the businesses and restaurants within your area, provides alerts about great deals, and transitions through offers as they come and go. Ultimately, it brings couponing to you, eliminating the tedious task of scanning ads.

6. Venmo

Venmo makes all your monetary transactions as simple as clicking a button. The app links to your bank account and allows you to send, receive, and request money from your friends. It is immediately transferred to or from your account, and you don't have to worry about the cash.

7. Gas Buddy

Gas prices are crazy, and they fluctuate daily. You need gas, but you don't need to pay the highest prices or drive around town trying to find the cheapest station. Gas Buddy provides a list of all the surrounding gas stations, their prices, and gives you a heads up of drastic changes about to take place helping you to save as much as possible.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
