Appreciating My Dad For Father's Day

Dad,

Where do I even begin?

You are my dad, my twin, my inspiration, my first love.

Let me just start out by saying that I am an extremely lucky person. I grew up with both of my parents who were very supportive of me.

My dad is the reason that I work so hard to get ahead in life. The person who has literally sacrificed everything so that my siblings and I could have a better life than he did.

I cannot wait to graduate next year because all of my accomplishments are thanks to him and my mom pushing me to do my best all of these years.

My dad always taught me to appreciate everything that I have because he never had it. You name it - new clothes, food, an education. My Dad has worked hard his whole life for his family and I am forever grateful.

My dad is not just a hard worker, but he is hilarious. He always knows how to light up a room. He is always the life of the party and he is unapologetic of that. My dad is not afraid to be himself and I love that about him.

I have so many wonderful memories with my Dad that makes me appreciate my childhood. Whether it was playing sports outside like soccer, basketball or beach volleyball. My dad can do it all. He is so good at playing sports.

My dad is an amazing cook. Even though I don't live with my dad anymore, I always love to go over to eat for dinner. My Dad makes the best Mexican food. Honestly, I have never had Mexican food as good as Dad's. Don't even get me started on his salsa, it is amazing.

There are so many great things about my dad that I love so much. He is kind. He is so smart.

Papi, quiero que sepas que tu eres mi inspiracion. I am so proud of all of your accomplishments and just know that I will always be here for you.

Te quiero mucho.

Love,

Tu Prieta

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.

Oh college, we can’t live with you, but we can’t live without you. It’s a love/hate relationship, really. College is an experience that no one can ever prepare you for, and maybe that’s a good thing. You never really expect any of the things that college encompasses until you are there. College is fun, but don’t have too much fun. C’s get degrees, but they don’t get you into graduate school.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out.
