The Disney College Program Fall Advantage 2016 Cast Members are starting to check in, what this means is that many college students are on their way into interning for a huge fortune 500 company. They have an amazing opportunity to work for the Walt Disney World Company while gaining college credit and a priceless experience.

The Disney College Program is a highly competitive internship, thousands of college students apply every semester in hopes of becoming Disney's Next Top Intern. Actually, that's not really a thing, but a lot of applicants really do hope to get picked. It's been rumored that over 20,000 applicants apply and only about 5,000 applicants get it. However, that is just a rumor and you know what they say about people who assume things.

When it came time to first apply for the college program in January I was emailed by Walt Disney World Recruiting about the applications opening. I had been planning on applying for the past year but I just never got around to it. So finally, when I got the email on January 12, I totally forgot to apply. It wasn't until I heard the word Disney until I remembered and actually applied. So, on January 19 I applied for my first time; I submitted my application and was ready for whatever was thrown my way. Except, I didn't know what would come my way because I hasn't done any research about the application process itself. But after a few moments of wondering what was next I got an email to take my Web Based interview, which is basically a personality quiz. At the end of the WBI I was told automatically whither I passed or failed, and luckily I passed. Immediately I was able to schedule my phone interview which was made for February 7. I had a little over 3 and a half weeks to prepare. It felt like forever, I watched YouTube video after YouTube video. I was preparing like crazing. I googled what questions I would be given and I spent hours searching the internet on what to expect.

After February 7th the waiting game began and it felt like years before hearing back; finally the email came, the email every applicant longs to see.

Congratulations! I was in. It was almost unbelievable. I had told myself I wasn't going to get in; I had heard so many people say it was hard to get in on your first application.

But I got in.

I was on cloud nine.

After months of waiting for the time to flee the nest and head to Orlando the day has finally arrived. It's time to make the plunge and take this new adventure and the excitement is unreal. The idea of living in Orlando and going to Disney World every time truly a dream come true. It's something only a small amount of people can say they have done. The Disney College Program will not be easy many of the CP's will have to take classes along with working a minimum of 32 hours a week. The shifts are long and at odd hours of the day or even night. The Disney College Program will be hard but so many of the applicants have worked so hard to get where they are and as check-in approaches the excitement and anticipation are surely taking over.

Twas the night before Check-in, when all through the house
Not a CP was sleeping, for they worked for the mouse.
Their bags were packed in the car with care,
In hopes that they would soon would be there.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
