On Wednesday, September 7, Apple launched their keynote event displaying a line of new products, including the new iPhone 7 and Apple Watch Series 2. Even though these new devices are laden with new features, people seem to be focusing on one and only one thing, the lack of the headphone jack on the new iPhone. This was rumored to be happening for multiple weeks and maybe months, so why is it such a big deal? People depend on their headphones when they study, are driving, exercising, or completing work. The thing is, the iPhone does come with headphones, they just have an adapter to where you would plug your charging cord into. People are arguing that the main issue with this is that you cannot charge your phone while listening to music at the same time. Tell me this, how often do you charge your phone and listen to music at the same time? I can tell you now, not often.

Well, if you happen to be one of the few people that do listen to music and charge your phone simultaneously, then you now have the option to buy Apple's new AirPods. These innovative headphones are completely wireless and connect through Bluetooth on any of your devices, even if it is not an Apple product. Although they come with a hefty price tag of $159.00, they could be worth it. These headphones are not a very new idea; however, Apple is one of the first companies to release this type of technology. The case they come in when purchased is also the charger. The headphones come with a USB cable as well in order to charge the case. If you are one of those tech people, I think these headphones are definitely worth giving a shot.

The thing that most excites me is not these new headphones but the Apple Watch Series 2. This new watch has many of the features I have been desiring out of smart watches and fitness bands. It is now water resistant up to 50 meters and it has a built-in GPS for the runner in you. For those fitness enthusiasts out there, the watch contains a heart rate sensor and the health app to constantly track your workouts and your dieting. Siri, of course, is updated and better than ever, whatever that means. She probably still doesn't recognize half of the things you will ask her, but that's all right! The Series 2 watch still has many features of the previous watch as you can still download third-party apps and receive phone calls or send texts. The thing that is most desirable, however, is the water resistant feature. This allows you to go swimming with the watch in shallow areas, wear it in the shower, and of course run around in the rain with it. What more could a person ask for in a watch?

Forget the headphone jack because that is obviously a thing of the past. Look at all of these new features Apple has put into their devices and you will be amazed. Go to your local Apple store and check all of their recently launched products, and who knows, maybe one of these devices are meant for you.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
