Apple Crisp: A Fall Favorite
Apple Filling:
7 tart apples, peeled, cored & sliced
4 tsps fresh lemon juice
1/4 c white sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Topping:
1 c brown sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 c rolled oats
1/2 c butter, cold & cubed
Method:
1. Preheat oven to 350ºF. In a mixing bowl combine apples, lemon juice, white sugar & cinnamon.
2. Lay filling in 8 x 12-inch baking dish.
3. Combine brown sugar, cinnamon & oats. Cut in cold, cubed butter (with two forks, hands or cutting tool). Press on top of apples.
4. Bake for 35-45 minutes or until topping is brown & crunchy.
Best served warm & with vanilla ice cream.
