It's the holiday season which means large dinners, delicious desserts, and family gatherings are in store. These fun, seasonal drinks can be fun for the entire family to make - or can help make those family gatherings bearable. Whichever it may be, enjoy!
1. Bourbon Apple Cider
Ingredients:
1 piece of fresh ginger, peeled
2 shots apple cider
1 shot of your choice of Bourbon
1 squeeze of lemon juice
Cinnamon/sugar for rimming glass
Optional: apple slice and cinnamon stick for garnish
Instructions:
Peel piece of ginger and rub rim of a rocks glass with it. Dip the glass rim in a cinnamon/sugar mixture and set aside. In a shaker - put ginger in with some ice and muddle to release ginger flavor. Add apple cider, bourbon and lemon juice. Shake well and pour over ice into your glass. Garnish with apple slice and cinnamon stick!
2. Apple Cider Sangria
Ingredients:
1 apple
1 pear
1 bottle of the white wine of your choice
1 cup light rum
1 ½ cups apple cider
1 cup ginger ale
Cinnamon/sugar for rimming glass
Optional: cinnamon stick for a garnish
Instructions:
Peel and core the apple and pear and chop into pieces. Add the fruit to a pitcher. Add the wine, rum, apple cider, and ginger ale. Rim the glasses with cinnamon/sugar, add ice and a cinnamon stick as a garnish, and voila!
3. Jack Daniel's Tennessee Cider
Ingredients:
2 ounces Tennessee Cider
2 ounce fresh apple cider
3-4 ounces chilled champagne
Instructions:
Pour the Tennessee Cider into the bottom of each glass. Add the champagne and top with a splash of the fresh apple cider! (Serves 2)
4. Apple Pie on the Rocks
Ingredients:
1 oz. Vanilla Vodka
1 oz. Fireball Whiskey
4 oz. Apple Juice
Pinch of Ground Cinnamon Brown Sugar for the rim
Optional: Cinnamon Stick for Garnish
Instructions:
Wet the rim of your rocks glass just a little, and gently sugar the rim with the brown sugar. In a shaker, pour the vodka, Fireball, apple juice and ground cinnamon together with a handful of ice cubes- shake well and pour the contents into the glass. Add the cinnamon stick for garnish!
5. Apple Cider Ice Cubes
If you aren't comfortable leaving your drinking comfort zone and want to stick to your regular drink, try adding apple cider ice cubes (tastes best with rum)! Simply pour apple cider into an ice cube tray and freeze overnight!
