Today, it isn’t uncommon for people to use online dating sites in search of a significant other. Similarly, the app “Tinder” has become a popular way for people to communicate and sometimes meet people in their area. Since the audience likely reading this article understands what Tinder is and how it works, I’m going to skip all of that for now. What I will discuss is how to make your Tinder profile appealing – whether you are a guy or girl. These are all basic tips/ concerns that I have overheard in conversations or heard about from users.

The Bio

The biography you put on your Tinder profile is pretty important to a lot of users who are active on the app. You do not want to come across as something you aren’t, and you don’t want to come across as someone who is willing to do whatever with whoever. Sometimes, a little mystery goes a long way, but it is important to give some basic information so others can get a sense on whether or not it’s even worth the “swipe right.”

Your bio doesn’t have to be all serious though. Sometimes a corny pick up line or a sarcastic comment can be funny and cute, and a good sense of humor is never a bad thing. On the other hand, some pick-up lines can be too aggressive and have the chance of resulting in a “left swipe.” Similarly, writing a biography with objective remarks about the opposite sex will not likely help your chances of finding a “match.”

The Pictures

Pictures are obviously important to a Tinder profile, despite how superficial this may be. Honestly, don’t just put one picture to your profile. There is no way one picture portrays who you are, let alone what you look like. Add a few different pictures to your profile that demonstrate a variety of angles or places that demonstrate who you are and what you like to do. Essentially, your pictures should tell the story your biography provides a glimpse of.

It seems that the most frequent concern people have about pictures people use on their Tinder profiles is that they do not reveal pictures that provide even somewhat of an image of what the person looks like. For example, using blurry pictures or a bunch of pictures with groups of people is not effective because other users cannot determine what you look like, or even who you are in a set of group photos. Adding more of a close-up photo, a photo out with friends and a photo of you doing something you love is a good start to a decent profile. This shows variety and adventure and your personality.

Sure, Tinder is generally perceived as an app people can use to find someone to hook up with or meet out at the bars or frats one night, but you never know who could be on there who is using it for more serious purposes. This is something you could even include in your biography if you feel that is necessary. Take this advice or leave it, but if you want to increase your chances of getting matches on Tinder, here are some ways you can improve your profile according to feedback and comments other users have mentioned.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
