Besides Snapchat and Twitter what else could you need?

APPealing Apps

Candycrush and Angry Birds were two apps you might have had or even still have on your phone. These apps were the ones you played while waiting in a line somewhere or maybe even in class. With the bright display of colors, annoying background music, and the ability to drain your battery within a few minutes of play, some how we still loved them.

I’ll be the first though to say that I no longer have those apps tucked away in a folder on my phone. Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat are enough of a time killer for me. I now lean towards the more functional apps if you will. My choice of apps now include online shopping apps, restaurant apps, and apps for school!

1. Fuzzy's Taco Shop App

I love my Fuzzy’s Taco Shop App! While at school in Statesboro, I love to eat at fuzzy’s. Their app lets me scan my receipt and gain points towards free foods/prizes. There’s even a game on the app to help you gain points. Even if I’m not hungry, you might find me sitting there scanning my friends receipts.

2. Walmart Saving's Catcher

The Walmart Saving’s Catcher App is also one of my most recent downloads. The app has you scan your receipts and then compares prices with local competitors. If a different store had a better deal, Walmart gives you the difference in reward dollars which you can use next time while at the store.

3. Eagle Mobile App

Then theres the Eagle Mobile App which helps you stay connected to campus through different tabs including calendar, athletics, map and directory.

4. My Greek Study App

My newest download is My Greek Study. This app lets me log study hours at different locations through campus. All I have to do is click “Start Studying” and the app will log my hours until I leave the location.

With all the new software updates, I try to make sure my phone isn’t crammed with random apps but these ones are worth it!

On the Upper East Side, Blair Waldorf is an icon. She's what every girl aspires to be. She's beautiful, confident, and can handle any obstacle that life throws at her. Sure, she may just be a television character. But for me, she's a role model and theres a lot that can be learned from Queen B.

“I just want you to know that you’re very special… and the only reason I’m telling you is that I don’t know if anyone else ever has.”

We Heart It

Over the past decade, television has undergone a very crucial transition: the incorporation of female lead characters. Since it's a known fact that girls actually do run the world (Beyonce said so herself), it's time for the leading ladies of the small screen to get some credit. Without these characters, women would still be sitting in the background of our favorite shows. These women are not only trailblazers for female empowerment, but role models for women worldwide. With that, here are 15 of the smartest, sassiest ladies gracing our screens that remind us that women do, indeed, rule:
