In A Perfect World...

What would happen if we lived in a perfect world?

In A Perfect World...
Danielle Lynn Hayes

What would the world look like if it was perfect? Would it be beautiful and full of lush forests, blue oceans, and drop dead gorgeous people? Or would it be beautiful as in full of people with beautiful hearts and souls? We currently live in a toxic world full of hatred, abuse, and cruelty. In a perfect world, none of that would exist.

In a perfect world, there would be no racism. Everyone would be treated equally regardless of their skin color, and no one would have to suffer at the hands of hatred simply because of something that they cannot change. We would stand hand in hand, heart to heart, and soul to soul without conflict. There would be no riots in the streets, no crying out in the courtroom, and no unnecessary funerals for lives taken far too soon. In a perfect world, I could love a man whose skin is darker than mine, without consequence. In a perfect would, we would have true equality.

In a perfect world, there would be no child abuse and no neglect. All children would be wanted, cared for, and loved. They would have homes, food, and loving parents who would not think about abusing them for any reason whatsoever. In a perfect world, there would be no reason for abortion. All babies would be born happy and healthy, to mothers that love them, whether they be biological or adoptive. In a perfect world, every child would be safe.

In a perfect world, there would be no bullying. Absolutely no child would have anxiety about going school because they are afraid of being picked on. They would not come home crying, or with bruises. There would be no physical or emotional scars. In a perfect world, the bullies, would not have a need to be cruel. In a perfect world, there would be no depression or suicide. There would be no funeral for a child who took their own life because they were picked on so much. In a perfect world, people would not be so cruel.

If I could make the would perfect, I would change the hearts of millions. I would take away their pain and suffering to make them see the world in a new light. If i could make the world perfect, I would fill it full of beautiful, Godly souls. Only in a perfect world.

"For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us." Romans 8:18

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
