He is a darkness that consumes me.
Every day he is here.
Breathing down my neck.
Holding me hostage.
It’s a twisted love affair
I’m in an unlocked cage,
One where I have trapped myself.
At any given minute
I may fall victim to his cruel game.
He is the master of hide-and-seek,
When he is out to play
He is out to win.
He is a hurricane.
He comes to you for a minute
An hour
A day
A week
And before you know it
he is gone
The only thing left is destruction.
He’s like suffocating while breathing.
He’s like wearing a life vest but still drowning.
