I love going to thrift stores, antique malls, garage sales and consignment shops. It's always fun looking around those types of places to find something that catches my eye. As the saying goes, "one person's junk is another person's treasure," because you never know what you could find! There are many antique malls in Illinois that I haven't even heard of, and I'm sure many other people haven't either.

1. Volo Antique Mall

This antique mall is located in Volo, IL. This mall has four different stores inside it. Three antique malls, and a mercantile mall which specializes in antiques, gifts, collectibles, home furnishing and much more. There are over 400 dealers located inside this mall, so there's so much to look at!

2. St. Claire Antique Mall

This antique mall is located in Fairview Heights, IL which is 15 minutes from St. Louis. This mall has 200 dealers with booths set up crock ware, glassware and furniture. With over 20,000 square feet, they have 150 display booths and 75 showcases.

3. Edgewater Antique Mall

This antique mall is located in Chicago, IL. This mall offers Chicago the best furniture and decorative arts. There are only 40 dealers at this mall, but all their booths are stocked with furniture or art from the last century.

4. Marion Antique Mall

This antique mall is located in Marion, IL. This mall offers glassware, furniture, collectibles, jewelry and nice home décor.

5. Springfield Antique Mall

This antique mall is located in Springfield, IL. This one has over 750 dealers who travel the 50 states, Canada and England to make sure they find the best antiques to display. There are 500 booths displayed inside this mall. If there is anything in your house you want to get rid of, you can rent out your own booth here and set up an account to sell your antiques. They offer over 75,000 square feet of space to display booths.

6. East State Antique Mall

This mall is located in Rockford, IL. There are many unique items located here such as collectibles and vintage treasures. I have been to this one many times and always leave satisfied. There are 120 dealers with quality merchandise. They even have vintage jewelry and antique furniture. One other thing they have that some antique malls have is the layaway system. If you find something you want but can't afford it right away, they put it on layaway for you for 30 days until you have the money.

I am an antique store junky, so whenever I hear about a new place to visit, I have to go check it out. Most people think secondhand items are junk, but to some people you can find something to treasure forever.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Syllabus Week As Told By Kourtney Kardashian

Feeling Lost During Syllabus Week? You're Not Alone!

Kourtney Kardashian

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
