Another sleepless night
Wishing she had the gift of flight.
In search of an escape
From life taking it's shape.
She couldn't wait
For a chance to change her fate.
She was lost and scared;
Totally unprepared.
Ensnared in life's trap,
She felt her world unwrap.
Her world fell to pieces
As she scavenged for releases.
No one there to help.
No one heard her yelp.
For she was a lost soul
Who didn't know her role.
She was plunged down below;
She couldn't see light's glow.
She couldn't pull through.
Her time was due.
Weighed down by her pain.
Wishing she was slain.
Hoping she could fly.
Oh so hard did she try.
Tears flooded her eyes
And hid the skies.
There she drowned
Before she even got off the ground.
