As of August 23rd 2016 the Kansas City Royals have won eight straight game,s which puts them 4 and a half games out of the wild card spot. As most Kansas City natives know, the Royals have been having a rough season with injuries, and pitching issues. Having won eight back to back games, royals fans wonder if there is still a spark to get their boys in blue back into the playoffs for the third year in a row.
2015, a great year for a lot of people throughout the world, but for Kansas City fans it meant total comeback time. The Kansas City Royals had made it to the World Series in 2014 where they lost in game seven to the San Fransisco Giants. What they did gain that year was passion, teamwork and finally breaking the 29 year playoff drought. Although they did not hold the champion title, they came back in 2015 hungry for first place. The team clinched the division with no problem, but the first round of playoffs did not come so easy for the Royals.

The Royals faced the Houston Astros, who had a fantastic year going 86-76. It all came down to game number four. Houston led the series 2-1, and was winning by 4 runs in the top of the eighth inning. To most MLB fans, they would switch the channel, or turn off the TV and call this a game over, but for Kansas City fans the eyes stayed glued to the TV screen, the rally caps came out and the royals fans prayed for a comeback. Of course, that is just what they got. Houston's bullpen collapsed and the royals strung hits together and just kept the line moving. After the 8th, the Royals had scored eight runs helping them take the lead by one run. They won this game 9-6, and they also won the series to make a comeback of a lifetime to stay in the race to the World Series. As most know how this story ends, the Royals did indeed win the 2015 World Series Championship.

The Royals finish off their season October 2nd against Clevland. As the season is coming to an end, is it still possible for the Kansas City Royals to make the playoffs? Royals fans can only hope.
