You are my best friend.

An Open Letter To My Dad

Dad,

You've been there for me since day one. You are always there to catch me when I fall, and to help me get back on track. I have two things I would like to say: I'm sorry and thank you.

I'm sorry for the attitude that I gave you during my middle school and high school years. I'm sorry for not listening to you. It turns out that you are right a majority of the time, and I'm finally realizing that you only want the best for me. I'm sorry for not always appreciating everything you have done for me. You have helped me get through school, tough sports seasons, and heartbreaks. Usually moms are the ones who connect with their daughters and help them when things get hard, but you have always been my best friend. I'm sorry for not always being the perfect daughter.

Now I would like to say thank you.

Thank you for pushing me to be the greatest person that I can be. I would not be where I am today if you hadn't pushed me to do well in school. Most parents don't invest themselves into their children's schoolwork as much as you have. You always keep track of how I am doing and motivate me to do well. Thank you for driving hours upon hours for me to play the sports that I love. We developed a great bond traveling and practicing together. You helped me through my injuries and pushed me to be the best player I could be. Thank you for always reminding me that things are going to be okay. When I'm sad or stressed, you are there telling me that I can push through any obstacle that life throws at me. You motivate me to keep trying.

Thank you for being you.

I wouldn't trade our frequent grocery store trips, early morning farmers' market visits, and music-filled car rides for anything.

You are my best friend, and you will forever be the best man in my life.

Love always,

Your grateful daughter

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
