"What's your favorite flavor?"
My personal favorite flavor is moose tracks, but that contains chocolate and peanut butter. What if you have a peanut allergy? Now you just know this random factoid about me and you're not going to try it anyway. Plus, my personal preference doesn't ensure that you'll like whatever I have to recommend.
Food is a touchy subject. Everone has different taste buds. Try to narrow it down to something you're looking for like chocolate or caramel and I can tell you what you may like containing those ingredients.
"Can I get an ice cream cone?"
There is so much wrong with this question. What flavor? Do you want a specialty cone? What size? There are so many unanswered questions when you just simply ask for only an ice cream cone. Chances are, I have about thirty or so flavors for you to choose from.
"What color is your mint chip?"
The green one contains dye. That's the only difference. They taste identical. The color of mint chip has absolutely nothing to do with the flavor. Please stop asking.
(It's green.)
"Can I have vanilla?"
This plays off of the same idea as the previously mentioned "Can I have an ice cream cone." Most likely, I have between two and three different options when it comes to vanilla. Between soft serve, hand dipped, and frozen yogurt there are so many options. Usually, people will say that they're being "easy" because it's not extravagant, but little do you know we have to keep straight the type you're getting.
"Can I try your chocolate?"
Chocolate literally tastes the same everywhere. Please stop asking to sample simple flavors. This is understandable for children, but there's no reason that a fully grown adult should be tasting chocolate or vanilla.
"Do you call them sprinkles or jimmies?"
I call them whatever you call them first. Please don't ask me to settle your family debate.
"I don't want that fake ice cream."
Soft serve ice cream is made with heavy cream, it's actually more similar to homemade ice cream than the hard stuff if you want my honest opinion. Some places like McDonalds or buffets may have "fake" (whatever that means) ice cream, but most likely if you come to a parlor the ice cream is real.
"Can you just put a little whipped cream on top?"
Did you ask for whipped cream when you ordered? If not it's going to be extra. I can't just throw it on there for you regardless of how "little" the amount. Please don't tell me it's "fine" because it's not.
"A gelati? Like gelato?"
This stresses me out. No. They're nowhere near the same thing. Gelato is a premium Italian ice cream and is a lot smoother than regular ice cream. While regular ice cream has a base of cream, gelato has a base of milk and sugar. A gelati is a mix of soft serve ice cream and Italian ice. Nowhere near the same.
"This is the last sample..."
Most likely you're saying this because you've had about ten samples already. Yes, I know we have so many flavors, but I encourage you to come back if you'd like to try the remaining two that you haven't tried yet. Take a risk and get something you might not like without trying it.
