These songs are played in the dining hall, at parties, and on the radio. You can try to hide from them but they're going to find you and annoy you as you sing along and vibe out to them. They're annoying yet catchy or maybe vice versa. But here's a list of eight songs that I feel make the cut.
1. Look What You Made Me Do -- Taylor Swift
Maybe it's the beat. Maybe it's the chorus. Maybe it's the emotion behind it. But one thing for sure, if you love her or hate her like I do, 'Look What You Made Me Do' is annoying and a bop to dance to. Play this if you ever feel like you need background music while you're in a bad ass mood.
2. Havana -- Camila Cabello ft. Young Thug
Another song with a catchy yet sassy beat. As winter is slowly approaching, a song about Havana, the capital of Cuba, (ooh na-na) is the perfect song to allow listeners to be transported to memories of the beach, fruity drinks, drives with the sunroof down, and the tan lines you got from your bikini.
3. No Limit -- G-Eazy ft. Cardi B & A$AP Rocky
The cohesiveness of the chorus sung by A$AP Rocky and the pre-chorus sung by G-Eazy makes it hard not to sing along. What makes it worse is that the song has the hot upcoming rapper, Cardi B, featured on it and her part is absolute fire. Her verse isn't only hot due to the pacing of her rap, but because of the content about iPhones, Prada, and Rolex watches makes for a catchy song.
4. Gucci Gang -- Lil' Pump
It's all in the chorus. It's easy to memorize. Like, it's only two words! So, because of these two words which are trying to convey to listeners about a lavish lifestyle, you forget the rest of the song and only remember the words, "Gucci gang."
5. That's What I Like -- Bruno Mars
The opening of the song is strong and it makes me wish that I met a smooth talking guy with a Manhattan condo and a Miami beach house but, maybe it's the fact that Bruno Mars is singing about all the things that he likes, which tells listeners about things that you like or that you like because a guy will provide them for you. Either way, it's what all of us like, but on a subconscious level, somewhat annoys us.
6. Young, Dumb, and Broke -- Khalid
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Khalid, but this song is too annoyingly catchy to just pass up. It's his enunciation of the words "young" and "dumb" right next to each other in the chorus that over accents the vowel "u". However, it's the chill vibes and always hearing MTV U playing it, which is streamed in the dining hall, makes this song a great earworm.
7. Bank Account -- 21 Savage
This song is played at every single party. Every. Single. Party. But because it's annoying that it's played at every single party that you attend, it starts to become catchy. It's a song with chill vibes. Everyone gets hyped up and who doesn't like counting off things on their fingers while dancing and singing along?
8. Despacito (Remix) -- Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee ft. Justin Bieber
Every girl, including myself, swooned when we heard Justin Bieber's grown man voice sing in Spanish. No one, unless a native Spanish speaker or someone who has learned to speak the language fluently, knows or even understands what is being said. What makes this song annoying is that most listeners don't know or understand what is being sung. What makes this song catchy is making up what you think Justin Bieber is singing even though it is kind of offensive. All in all, I just need to throw it out there that the word "despacito" is fun to say.
