Announcing: The Stranahan 2017-2018 Season
Stranahan Theatre

On March 2nd, 2017 The Stranahan Theater in Toledo, Ohio has finally announced it's 2017-2018 season! With the 2016-2017 being so incredible featuring The Phantom of the Opera, Pippin, Chicago, and Kinky Boots, we in the Toledo area excitedly awaited to see what the Stranahan had in store for us this time.

Here it is, the Stranahan's 2017-2018 Season!

1. A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder: November 9th-12th, 2017

Tony Award winner for Best Musical in 2014, as well as winner of three other Tony's and nominated for nine, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder is, in the words of the website of their tour, "slaying" it's way to Toledo. When Monty Navarro finds out that he is actually a member of the aristocratic D'Ysquith family, he begins a plot to rid the family of the eight people ahead of him in line to become an earl. Full of murder, plotting, and a bit of romance, Gentleman's Guide is not for the faint of heart (which they warn you about in the first number) but it is for the theatre goer that likes 2 cubes of morbid in their tea!

2. Beautiful: The Carole King Musical: February 6th-11th, 2018

A jukebox musical, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical follows the early life and career of singer/songwriter, Carole King, using her songs as well as songs written by several other contemporary artists including Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil. Winning two Tony's and A Grammy (Best Leading Actress in a Musical and Best Sound Design, and Best Musical Album for the Grammy) Beautiful will absolutely blow you away!

3. Cinderella: March 8th-11th, 2018

You've seen Cinderella before, but not quite like this! Featuring seven new characters (including a sympathetic stepsister) and several new songs, this is Cinderella like you've never seen it before! Nominated for nine Tony's and Winning Best Costume Design, this revival of an old Rogers and Hammerstein favorite will sweep you off to a new fairytale, and you just might find yourself liking a stepsister or two this time around.

4. Wicked: June 6th-17th, 2018

That's right, ladies and gentlemen, Wicked: The Untold Story of the Wicked Witch of the West is flying back to Toledo and landing in the Stranahan again! Nominated for nine Tony's and a Grammy and winner of three Tony's and a Grammy, Wicked finally gives us the side of the story that was never told. Wicked follows the story of Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, and the friendship we never new of between her and Glinda the Good. Full of beautiful music, stunning sets, and jaw-dropping costumes, Wicked certainly will make you rethink being so afraid of that green face you saw in the movies.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
