With summer here, I've had a lot more time to spend playing different video games to keep myself occupied at times. Despite having so many choices at my disposal, I find myself coming back to the one game that has never failed to make me smile: "Animal Crossing." There's a lot that can be learned from the simple game, especially as a college student, so I'd like to present 7 "Animal Crossing" GIFs that perfectly describe life as a college student.

1. What early classes actually look like

You tell yourself every time you schedule, "Oh, I'll be able to do it. It'll be okay. I'll stay awake." Yet, every day you have that class, you find yourself in the same sleep-deprived stupor, hoping to whatever deities might listen that you'll learn something.

2. Thinking about going to the gym got you like

Almost everyone thinks they're going to lose tons of weight, but the majority of us know that when push comes to shove, this is what it really feels like when trying to motivate yourself.

3. When you look at the amount of work you have to do and the lack of free time it leaves

You know somewhere in your head that school comes first, but it begins to feel soul-sucking at a certain point. Then when you start to think about all the time working you're going to do over the summer, it feels even worse.

4. The feeling when you walk out of your last class for the week

Freedom is a beautiful feeling. 'Nuff said.

5. What everyone looks like over the weekend, pretending they don't have anything to do

Even though your schedule is packed and you've been procrastinating that big project due on Tuesday, we all know you're gonna be letting loose the whole weekend. Don't even try to pretend you won't because we both know that's just not true.

6. Sunday morning always feels like

The exhaustion from your nights of partying to forget you have responsibilities catches up to you quickly, and while Pascal may be talking about the difference between floating and standing, he really understands that struggle.

7. How Sunday night feels when you realize the week is about to start again

The panic is real. We all tell ourselves it's not going to happen again after the last weekend. We put in the effort to set ourselves up for success, yet it always turns out the same. That panic comes and soon enough, we're back on that same screwed up schedule.

All in all, plenty of people will believe that Animal Crossing is just another kids game on the shelf, waiting to be disregarded by the children in a few years. However, if you're as dedicated a player as I am, as well as many others I know, you can see the relatable aspects of the game to anyone, especially us college students.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…
