Humans have an innate sense of discovery through observation,. It is this sense that makes us want to travel far places to fuel our curiosity. Maybe it was my dad's job that made him, in turn me, move to many places or maybe it is my urge to travel and meet new people; but I have had the fortunate experience of living in many places. I have observed that, although the world, when viewed from a distance, is diverse and varied, there are plenty of commonalities in human behavior.
It is evident through stereotypes, beliefs and cultural heritage that the North is different than the South in the States. But not all of the "evident" differences or stereotypes are true.Contrary to popular belief, not all northerners are the Yankee, rude drivers that cut people off even if they are driving the speed limit,. In fact, most "Yankees" are humble and respectful. I have personally lived in Michigan and Connecticut and those are of the better places I have had the chance to live in. Similarly, most Southerners are not slow people with a drawl and low IQ. That being said, I have had some terrible experiences with conservative people in the South and nearly no such experience with those type of people in the North.
The amazing thing about traveling is that with every trip a person grows and his or her character develops. I was just a sugar-crazed 10-year old in India playing cricket (a game like baseball) all day. If someone would've told me that I would have the experiences that I have had, I would've laughed hard at how crazy that sounded. Traveling has helped me realize how small all of the problems in our daily lives are. Traveling is a sort of refuge from the troubles and stresses of daily life and helps a person get re-energized.
