As every Nole knows, FSU's homecoming week comes with a variety of entertainment. One of my favorite events, Pow Wow, the free comedy show that has featured a variety of comedians like the incredibly blunt Amy Schumer to comedians who didn't come quite prepared (Keenan Thompson of the 2014 Pow Wow Show). While Pow Wow holds the most entertainment for some, others find pure enjoyment in Warchant, our annual concert held in the Civic Center. Last year brought the concert of the Zac Brown Band, and to country fans that was a godsend. However others may have not thought the same, so this year FSU's Homecoming Team stepped up their game and invited Chance the Rapper to headline this years Warchant. I for one may or may not have cried when I heard this news.
Chance is coming to our Civic Center Wednesday October 12! For those of you who aren't as familiar with Chance, he is a 23 year old artist from Chicago, Ilinois and his most recent album Coloring Book was release exclusively on streams. This prompted the Record Academy to announce that for the first time, streaming-only releases will be allowed to be considered for Grammy nominations. This means that this year we may have yet another Grammy award winning artist. If you have yet to check out some of the incredible songs on Coloring Book, some notable ones to check out are:
1. All We Got (feat. Kanye West & Chicago Children's Choir)
2. No Problem (feat. Lil Wayne & 2 Chainz)
3. Summer Friends (feat. Jeremih & Francis & The Lights)
4. Same Drugs
5. Mixtape (feat. Young Thug & Lil Yachty)
6. Juke Jam (feat. Justin Bieber & Towkio)
7. All Night (feat. Knox Fortune)
So no matter what kind of music you're in to, I highly suggest you make sure to snag a ticket to this years Pow Wow because it will definitely be a show you won't forget!
