Once a year at the end of February, the prestigious night rolls around, where Hollywoods finest walk the red carpet, dressed to impress, in hopes of coming home with an actors' highest achievement. As audience members, we plant ourselves on our couches and think the following thoughts throughout the whole production...

1. It's crazy to think how good-looking all of the celebrities look on this night.

You can't help but wonder how long it took them to get ready.

2. Oscar red carpets mean you get to look at endless attractive men in tuxedos.

3. Additionally, you witness power couples and only dream of that being your marriage one day.

4. Jennifer Lawrence always manages to ask the questions during interviews you always have but are too scared to ask.

5. Remember that time when Abigail Breslin was nominated for an Oscar at age 6 and had her life altogether far earlier than you ever will?

6. When was the last time Meryl Streep wasn't nominated for an Oscar?

7. When winners walk up to accept their awards you secretly hope they trip and fall.

8. Acceptance speeches always somehow turn into these powerful and moving speeches that go on for an hour.

9. You always regret not seeing all of the movies that have been nominated for best picture.

10. I bet the majority of the celebrities end up drinking their way through the show.

11. Actors' reactions in the audience to winners is often the highlight of the show.

12. Finally, we can only hope that one day poor Leo's horrible streak of never winning an Oscar can be broken.

Still difficult to wrap our heads around how with a beautiful face like his, he still has yet to.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
