Well, today begins the second semester for many college students, and I know a lot of you, much like me, understand that this is a fresh start. My first semester was not at all what I imagined it to be. I made new friends, got used to being a bit far from home, and so much more.

However, I don't believe I took my first college semester by the horn. There is so much more I wish I had done! So, I have decided to set goals for the spring semester. Some of them are goals that I had set for the fall semester, but didn't exactly follow through with. However, I am determined and ready to get this going! So, here are 10 things I wish to accomplish in the second semester!

1. Earn all A's

I know I could have put more effort into my academics, but I chose to eat and sit on Twitter instead. I did not perform poorly this semester, but I know I can do better, and so I will!

2. Be more involved

My school has so many great activities and clubs to be a part of, I wish I took a part of more of them in the fall! Maybe I'll take this time to consider a sports team to start next year!

3. Find a job

OMG. No one understands how much I need money. Money runs out fast in college, investing in food, school supplies, clothes, and so much. Your parents aren't there to give you money every time you need something like they used to be. So, in order to become more independent, and make my own money, I am going to try to find a job, hopefully on campus, to make my life a little bit easier, and have a little more productivity in my life.

4. Find a side hustle

A legal one of course. Learn how to do something where I can get extra money on the side. I've been spending a part of my winter break learning how to thread eyebrows, so hopefully in a month or two I can be good at it and offer my services!

5. Learn how to play an instrument!

I do sing in my spare time, and I love to do short cover videos. However, rather than look up an instrumental on Youtube to sing along to, playing an instrument would make the cover all the more interesting. I have been wanting to play the ukulele for a while now (I don't care, I think it's cool), so maybe that's the first one I need to invest in!

6.Become more friendly

I am not very good with first impressions and making friends, so hopefully I become much more outgoing in the near future!

7. Organize..well, everything

I always start off organized the first week or two of classes but after a month, everything becomes hectic. I lose papers, I spill food/drinks on my work, its just rough.

8. Have healthier eating habits

Without my parents not being there to tell me they're not buying the junk food, I spend all my money on food that I shouldn't be eating. Oreos, potato chips, Sour Patch Kids, it's all bad. Try to drink more water, eat more fruits and vegetables, and eat healthier meals.

9. Become closer to God

Over the summer, I was having issues with my inner self, which caused me to pray every day and night. I started to feel so much better; my days became brighter, and life became a bit easier.

10. Be positive!

College can definitely bring out some of your best times, but also some of your worst. I have spent nights laughing and nights crying. All in all, remember to stay positive! Life will always have it's ups and downs, but in the end its all worth it!

Hopefully you follow through with these accomplishments! Good luck this semester!!

The Battle Between College And My Mental Health

College isn't easy, and I'm afraid I'm not going to make it at the rate my mental health is going.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?

For the average 20-something, life moves pretty fast. You’ve got classes, friends, relationships, jobs, family, and whatever else we overcommit ourselves with. I probably should have learned to say no to adding more to my schedule a long time ago, but instead here are 11 things that can be more helpful than coffee.

Resting b***h face. Defined as a person, usually a girl, who naturally looks mean when her face is expressionless, without meaning to. Many of you suffer from this "condition." You are commonly asked what's wrong, when nothing is. What people don't know is that is just your facial expression. Here are some things they wish you knew.
