Ⅰ. The role of automotive cable ties

Automotive cable ties are the most used wire harness fixing and protective materials, mainly made of PA66. Most of the fixing of automobile wire harnesses is done with cable ties. The function of the automotive cable tie is to fasten the wire harness and make it firmly and reliably fixed on the body sheet metal holes, bolts, steel plates and other parts to prevent the wire harness from vibration, displacement or interference with other parts and damage the wire harness.

Ⅱ. The classification of automotive cable ties

Although there are many types of cable ties, they can be divided into the following types according to the type of sheet metal: card round hole type cable tie, card waist round hole type cable tie, card bolt type cable tie, card steel plate type cable tie, etc.

1. The round hole type cable tie is mostly used in places where the sheet metal is relatively flat and the wiring space is large and the wiring harness is smoothly routed, such as the cab, the diameter of the round hole is generally 5-8 mm.

The card-waist round-hole cable tie is mostly used for the thick trunk or branch of the wire harness. After installation, this cable tie cannot be rotated at will, and has strong fixed stability. It is mostly used in the front compartment. The aperture is generally 12×6 mm, 12× 7 mm)

2. Bolt-type cable ties are mostly used in places where the sheet metal is thick or where the uneven wiring harnesses are irregular, such as firewalls. The apertures are generally 5mm or 6 mm.

3. The steel plate type cable tie is mainly used on the edge of the steel sheet metal to jam the sheet metal, so that the wire harness transitions smoothly, and at the same time, to prevent the sheet metal edge from piercing the wire harness. It is mostly used in the wiring harness and the rear bumper in the cab. The thickness of gold is generally 0.8~2.0mm.
