An Open Prayer To My Future Wife

I know that we are both clueless as to who the other is, but I believe that is what makes the prayers I pray for you on a daily basis that much more heart-felt. I am not trying to toot my own horn, I am just humbly bowing my head to seek God’s face on your behalf. It may seem strange, but I know that it will all be worth it one day.

I pray that no matter where you are or what you are doing that God’s grace and favor stay by your side. This world is a dangerous place, and I cannot be there to protect you. That is why I pray that our loving Father places His hands of protection on you and leads you safely to me. I pray that God not only protects you physically but also mentally and spiritually. It is my prayer that He will keep your soul and heart from harm; while simultaneously preparing the both of us for each other. I rebuke all acts of evil against you, and that no plans of Satan’s shall prosper. I know that God is able to keep you safe. I haven’t forgotten that you were His before you were ever mine.

I pray that God grows your ministry. I know that the Good Lord will place a calling on both of our lives to be completed together. With that being said, I know that there is a ministry that you are doing now by yourself. I pray that it brings glory to God. Find yourself in who he wants you to be and serve Him with everything you have in you. Let Him work through you and show you the path he requests you to take. I pray that you stay in his will, and become a great woman of God.

I pray that you are not lonely and that you have surrounded yourself with Godly friends and role models. Finding a good friend these days is near about impossible, but I have prayed that God will give you the types of friends that will pick you up when you are down and will also strengthen your relationship with God instead of hinder it.

I pray for your happiness. You see, when the Lord shows me who you are, I will promise to make you happy as long as we both shall live, but I do not want your happiness to be completely dependent on me. If that was the case, then you would be living a life of misery now, and I certainly do not want that. I pray that you find joy in the things that you do, and that your happiness is rooted in God. I want you to be happy with me, don’t get me wrong, but truthfully, I want to add to your happiness not be the sole reason for how you feel.

This part of my prayer could be considered selfish, but I do pray that you are on your way. I will continue to pray for you every day regardless of when you may enter my life, yet the anxiousness that is built up on the inside of me grows stronger and stronger as each day passes. I know that everything will happen in God’s timing, and that I should not rush His plan. Just know that when we meet, my arms and heart will be open, and most importantly, I cannot wait to live the life God has planned for us. That is my prayer for you.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.
